It would have been quicker to die than get treated by these so called health carers. 18hrs plus and still counting in A&E.

I was admitted with broken leg, ankle finger and hand on 08/04/2024 and cannot fault the staff who were working under extreme conditions. Cannot fault the care and consideration given to myself and those around me even when some were extremely rude and abusive to the nurses when they were trying to help them. Yes I had to wait a long time for a bed but this was not the staff's fault and due the wait had a 234 hour delay to the operation on my leg.

Awful experience at the Grange - admitted with abdominal pain to A&E - the usual and expected long wait - staffed what they could under enormous pressure. Taken for abdominal scan - not explained before hand - greeted by Radiographer "all right Shazza" who began injecting liquid into my cannula without explanation. Transferred to SAU - no beds so several nights on a chair in a shared waiting area - one lady had slept on a chair for over a week. No pillows - "they get nicked". Medications given and drips put up without checking they have the right patient. No hot food as they had "run out". No assistance with personal care. Does not feel like a safe environment.

Attended A&E back last August and my experience was horrendous. Firstly was waiting over 18 hours (which by no means is the staffs fault), however when I was finally seen to, the lack of empathy and care from doctors was astonishing. I blatantly had doctors joking and discussing about who wanted to do my stitches in front of my face after waiting with an open wound for around an hour which made me want to leave the hospital all together. At least 4 doctors completely dismissed helping me whatsoever. I felt so humiliated and belittled. I will be avoiding this hospital at all costs.

My husband was recently admitted to the Grange whilst experiencing a stroke. The timely and expert care he received immediately in the Resuscitation Department and subsequently on the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit almost certainly saved his life and at the very least, prevented permanent impairment. Without exception ALL the staff, Consultant, Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Porters et al in those two Units went over and above the call of duty. I note some of the complaints, indeed we have had similar experiences with other family members ourselves. The fault doesn't lie with the medical staff but rather (1) with the administrative system which directs minor injuries wrongly to what essentially is a Critical Care Specialist facility, because the local hospitals have been prematurely closed, (2) because people turn up and treat the place as a general A & E. There were dozens of people waiting with e.g. 'I think I might be getting a bit of arthritis' complaints. Some that smelled as though they had spent the afternoon in the pub etc. WISE UP folk - you might actually need life saving treatment at some time which is delayed/denied by these time wasters. Having said that, I must also mention the self important behaviour of two staff members in the 'Departure Lounge' They presented a very poor public image. They were more interested in moaning and swearing amongst themselves about being inconvenienced by having to pass over our prescription - with total disregard for us or the other patients. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Absolutely atrocious switchboard and admin team. We have been on hold for two hours now trying to check on my father in law, have been hung up on four times (and no, we haven’t lost our temper or been rude once) They don’t even ask for details or tell you where the calls are being transferred to. Appalling.

My wife was taken directly the the Resus department after a fall down the stairs, that resulted in severe concussion, a fractured collarbone, and staple and glue to a large deep cut on her head. She was treated promptly and with care by the staff, who kept us informed about what was happening at all times. Well done folks

I was taken to Grange after a fall, everyone was wonderful and caring.,I was there a long time, but they had over a hundred patients to see. All member of staff were cheerful despite their work load. You can only deal with one person at a time, I was dealt with in a caring professional way. And I am thankful for the treatment I Received.

Ignorant treatment received from nurse in A+E who refused patient second opinion. This hospital should be under special measures. Aneurin Bevan CEO receives £250k,/annum. Should be ashamed but very unlikely. Avoid this A+E

Amazing care by all nurses, anaesthetists and surgeon's. Have been so well informed and looked after. I cant thank you enough and I don't know what we'd do without your support on ward A3 and in theatre
